UIW PSI CHI INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY.
.
Psi Chi is THE international honor society in psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of “encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology.” Membership in this organization depends on academic achievement—check your UIW email box each semester for an invitation to join, or self-nominate (see criteria below)..
.
Eligibility .

• Have completed at least 24 credit hours overall, and at least 9 credit hours of psychology courses..
• Be a PSYC major or minor .
• Have a psychology GPA that is at least 3.00.
• Have an overall GPA that is in the top 35% of their class – this cutoff is posted and changes each semester!.
.
Each semester UIW Psi Chi sends invitations to eligible candidates via UIW email after we determine the semester’s top 35% in each of the sophomore, junior, and senior classes.
Because the GPA “cutoff” changes each semester, a student who qualifies for Psi Chi membership one semester may not necessarily qualify in the following semester SO it is to the candidate’s advantage to join when invited rather than delay joining until the following semester..
