Detailed description is TRiO Education Talent Search (ETS) helps Uintah High School students prepare both financially and scholastically for college at grades levels 6th to 12th.
Educational Talent Search was formed under the higher education act in 1965, to serve students from disadvantages backgrounds this specifically means students who are low income and who are the first generation in their family to work to attain a College degree.
In the past Talent Search as pushed for any kind of degree or training certificate but we are now moving towards putting the focus solely on 4 year bachelor degrees.
The Talent Search Program we run has been in existence for a little over 20 years, Maraia has been director for 20 years.
The goal of Educational Talent Search is to get students into college and prepare them so that they can attain a 4 year degree.
There is a program called Student Support Services that is the next branch of the federal TRiO program they service the same population of college students.
