Detailed description is The UC Davis Center for Advocacy Resources and Education (CARE) is dedicated to reducing gender-based violence and providing support to survivors.
The UC Davis Center for Advocacy Resources and Education (CARE), formally known as Campus Violence Prevention Program (CVPP), is dedicated to reducing the incidence of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence and stalking in the campus community.
We serve the students, faculty, staff of the University, including UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
Our role in reducing violence is multi-faceted: we work to support survivors, increase campus safety, to broaden public awareness about the nature of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence and stalking, its impact on people of all genders, and to mitigate the trauma of the victim/survivor.
Our staff consists of a Victim Advocate, a Community Educator, and a Director.
CARE is also supported by numerous student volunteers and interns.
Together, we provide a wide variety of programs and services designed to provide support, reduce risk and to inform the University community about the resources available for dealing with sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, stalking and its aftermath.
Our educational programs, tailored to meet the needs of individual audiences, include films, discussion groups, lectures, role-plays, and communication exercises.
We provide programs to many UC Davis and local community groups, including residence halls, sororities, fraternities, staff, athletic teams, student clubs and academic courses.
