Detailed description is UATV began in 1995 as the television station by and for the students at the University of Arkansas.
UATV began in 1995 as the television station by and for the students.
It serves to both teach students to become exceptional journalists and to produce news and entertainment content that can’t be found anywhere else.
The Fulbright College Television Center, on the first floor of Kimpel Hall, is the home of the UATV studio, control room, and master control room.
Students are capable of producing programming equal in quality to local affiliates, thanks to a state-of-the-art video switcher, graphics generator, and other professional equipment..

UATV, University of Arkansas Television, went on the air during the fall semester of 1996 exclusively in Fayetteville.
Later, the student-ran TV station was added to Springdale, and a few years ago, the UATV signal was expanded to into much of Northwest Arkansas, but the station shared programming time on Channel 14 with Fayetteville, Springdale and Rogers Schools..

On December 9, 2010, UATV began broadcasting on Cox Communications Channel 214 throughout Northwest Arkansas, and on Channel 22 on the University of Arkansas campus.
UATV programming reach now exceeds 100,000 households through Cox Cable.
