The UAMS combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Program consists of four years of training in the care of patients of all ages.
We aim to provide residents with the tools needed to provide superior medical care to children and adults in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

The program is chaired by Dr.
Robert H.
Hopkins, MD, FAAP, FACP.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and completed his residency at UAMS.
His goal is to "educate residents in a comprehensive care model: to prepare our graduates to practice primary care, enter into hospital medicine, or a sub-subspecialty career with a solid base of knowledge.".

Our residents spend four years rotating between the UAMS main campus, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and the Central Arkansas Veterans Hospital with the majority of time spent at UAMS and ACH.
Each resident rotates between Internal Medicine and Pediatrics every three months while maintaining personal IM and pediatric continuity clinics..
