Detailed description is The UofC Ski Club was formed in 1962.
We like skiing snowboarding and drinking beers! The U of C Ski Club is a student run non-profit organization that is dedicated to the promotion of skiing and snowboarding to the students of the U of C.
The Ski Club is the largest, oldest (and best) club on campus.
We had over 2500 members in the 2013/2014 school year and have been around for over 50 years now! Some of you may be thinking that we’re off our rockers if you know that the U of C isn’t even 50 years old, but I promise you, we DO know how to count (even if we have to use our fingers).
The U of C ski club was formed in 1962 when the University Of Calgary was still operating as a branch of the University of Alberta.
When the U of C was established in 1966 the Calgary branch of the then U of A Ski Club became the U of C Ski Club you know and love!.

By the way, you can snowboard with the Ski Club, in fact we encourage it! Some of our executives are even one-plankers…We’re just called the “Ski Club” because snowboarding (like most students) hadn't even been conceived in 1962 when the club was started.
Also the “Drink Your Face Off and Fall Down Hills Club” just didn’t have the same ring..
