Twirling By Kary is a baton studio offering classes in Live Oak and Mayo.
Twirling by Kary is owned and operated by Kary Black.
Kary Black is a well-known baton coach and choreographer in the state of Florida.
The love of baton twirling and dancing started for Kary at the age of three when she was enrolled in her first baton and dance classes.
Throughout her thirteen years of taking baton and dance classes, Kary performed at the Orange Bowl and the Sugar Bowl, twice.
While attending Lafayette High School, in Mayo, Florida, Kary served as a majorette for four years.
She then went on to twirl at The Florida State University with the world renowned Florida State University Marching Chiefs from 2006-2010 and held a leadership position that required her to choreograph routines for all half time shows and bowl games.
Along with her college line, Kary competed in various baton competitions and had the opportunity to teach at many baton camps all over the state of Florida.
In 2007, Kary and her team competed at Twirl Mania in Orlando, Florida and took home the first place trophy for the collegiate dance/twirl division.
Upon graduation, Kary opened her own studios in both Mayo and Live Oak, Florida in 2011 and continues to coach girls from all over North Florida.
In 2012 she founded the “Rivals Baton Camp” in Live Oak, Florida where she host twirlers from around the state of Florida and teaches them one, two, and three baton tricks and skills, as well as routines.
Kary has choreographed baton routines for many bowl games including the Sugar Bowl, Alamo Bowl, Gator Bowl, Capital One Bowl and the Music City Bowl.
She is extremely excited to choreograph routines for the 2014-2015 Liberty Bowl and cannot wait to meet all of the wonderful twirlers that will be attending.
