Detailed description is We are a custom handmade furniture store.
We make all of our furniture from 100% natural wood that we have cut ourselves and kiln dried.
We can take any idea you have and turn it into reality! We take pride in our craftsmanship! American handmade! We started TuffRoots Furniture in December of 2013.
Back then it was just an idea and we never thought it would blossom the way it has.
Two friends came together with different backgrounds and complimenting skill sets..
We knew we wanted to provide a different style and a more personal connection to the customers.
We never liked the idea of "big business" charging people outrageous amounts for furniture that was poorly assembled and built with man-made wood such as particle board.
It didn't make sense to us that people would go out and spend thousands on a bed that would fall apart in a few years just to go back and get a new one from a company that doesn't even remember who you are.
At TuffRoots we pride ourselves on being self-sustaining and simple...
We start our process in the woods.
We search for quality trees ranging from white oak, black walnut, eastern red cedar and white pine to sweet gum, box elder, pear and other more exotic woods.
We cut the trees ourselves and haul them to a local band sawmill who cuts our desired lumber.
This way is simple, we need our lumber and the sawyer needs money to survive.
The money we make goes directly back to the community and not to some company who wouldn't care if we came back or not.

After the lumber has been cut and dried we sit it aside until someone asks for that perfect project.
We can provide step by step photos of your beautiful new furniture from when it was a tree all the way to your living room floor.
This allows you to have a more personal relationship with the furniture that you interact with on a daily basis.
We have even started providing printed photos of the process for our customers to admire..
Our prices are estimated by the number of hours we have to spend processing as well as the material we must buy to build the desired pieces.
As mentioned before though, we are a small local business and take pride in our hospitality.
We have worked with many customers who can't afford to buy new furniture from retail stores.
