Traditional Schools Of Budo Seifukai

Chemin de Maujobia

Neuchatel,Neuchâtel

Neuchatel,Switzerland -

Detailed description is Schools of traditional Japanese martial arts After many years of practicing and teaching, I became aware of the metamorphosis – indeed of the change – of Japanese budo, both in Japan itself, but especially outside, in Europe and in the Western areas of the world..
In a very insidious way, I witnessed the birth of what we now call “Gendai budo” ie, new martial arts created from scratch and starting from partial knowledge of the various arts of combat that are presented as ancient budo with a historical origin..
Being concerned with preserving the heritage that has been handed down, it seemed obvious to create a school, outside of Japan, which would bring together the schools who practice what they call the koryu, namely antique styles that have an historical, Japanese origin..
At the Meiji Restoration, the samurai class was abolished, and consequently many schools and styles ancient disappeared, whether they were schools of weapons or schools of unarmed combat..
I remember that Minoru Mochizuki Sensei was already worried about this situation and urged us to preserve this historical, cultural and martial heritage..
.
So at the beginning of the 2000, the idea of creating an entity that could preserve the teaching received, was making its way.
It was necessary, however, to find people who could share this desire and it was thanks to the encounter with the connoisseur of Japan history and martial arts practitioner, Mr.
Roberto Garnets of Verona, with my son, Laurent Carniel, that this initiative started..
The project has become a reality and is guaranteed by the “Seifukai” in Japan, which is the organ created by senior students of the “Yoseikan” Hombu dojo, after the death of Minoru Mochizuki sensei..
On 11 July 2011, it was established in Neuchatel, Switzerland, the “Traditional Schools of budo Seifukai” which currently brings together all the dojos – from all over Europe and beyond – practicing the ancient martial arts..
Our association aims to welcome the dojos which practice the ancient Japanese budo, outside the competitive, creating cultural events, internships, create a center for the study of ancient Japanese budo, disseminate and preserve the philosophy of Minoru Mochizuki Sensei, and accommodate all persons who wish to practice, study and disseminate the ancient Japanese budo..
We really believe in the importance of an association like ours: it’s about the preservation of a cultural, historical and martial tradition, which is no longer Japanese only..
