Detailed description is The mission of Total Defense Krav is to fortify the mind, body, and soul of individuals, families, and communities worldwide.

The need for total self-defense training began when founder Matt Carlson was working as in Fire-EMS and patients would fight on-scene with responders.
Couple that with spending 24-48 hours away from home on duty and having experienced a home invasion leaving his family with nightmares.
The need for protection and peace of mind took utmost importance.The family needed a way to feel safe, confident, and empowered, with or without weapons.

Matt's first self-defense training came by way of non-violent physical intervention from Michigan state psychiatric hospital security staff, followed by Judo and grappling.The decision to adopt Krav Maga came after attending a United States Krav Maga Instructor training in 2014.
There are many combat sports and martial arts available but Krav spoke to the need for a philosophy and techniques anyone can learn, one that helps people feel safe, confident, and empowered regardless of their size, age, or location.
Since Krav techniques are built on flinch reactions and practiced under stress and exhaustion, and it technically has no rules, it makes for a realistic self-defense system..
