The mission of the Thomas Nelson Community College Fire Science Program is to prepare students to enter the fire service industry as career or volunteer fire and emergency services professionals, careers in fire protection engineering, fire service community risk reduction and/or to provide current practitioners with the knowledge, skills, abilities and confidence to serve in entry-level and mid-level leadership positions within fire and emergency services/protection organizations through innovative educational experiences to develop excellence in their professional practice, while responding to the needs of the community.
