Detailed description is Busy mom making time for a fit life.
My ongoing journey from overweight and unhappy to fit and healthy.
Join me on the continuation of my fitness journey......

I started on my fitness journey in March 2014.
I had reached my "never gonna go there" weight of 200lbs.
I was tired and uncomfortable in clothes.
I repeatedly found myself buying larger sizes and trying to justify it in my mind that I "hadn't gained THAT much weight".
I had aches and pains every day that slowed me down even more.
I had tried (not very hard) to lose weight in the past but would lose the same 5 lbs.
over and over.
This time it clicked.
I started eating 80-90% whole foods, watching calories and exercising for the first time in my life.
I began working out at home with some light weights.
I hiked and actually enjoyed it.
I also started running during this time.
I had always admired people who could run.
This was never me.
Even as a kid I couldn't run a full lap around a track.
I think I did day 1 of "Couch to 5K" for 3 months!!! But I finally moved on.
Just before my 40th birthday I was able to run a full mile without stopping! In the next 6 months I worked up to a 5k and I've since run three of them.

Fast forward to now.....since starting my fitness journey I've had many big life changes.
I got engaged, planned a wedding, got married and soon after our wedding, my husband and I became foster parents to a then, 6 month old baby girl.
We eventually adopted her and she is the center of our universe but keeps us VERY busy, along with our 4 older children that still live at home.
During this time I was also finishing my bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Having so many life changing events in a short time had caused the fitness that I had worked so hard for to be put on the back burner and before I knew it, 20 of the 35 lbs.
I had lost were back.

So this is where I am now.
This is my ongoing journey.....
Trying to balance life, family and fitness..
