During the 1920’s, The Peterson family of Austin vacationed in the nearby town of Wimberley.
At the time it was a day’s journey, and immediately became a family favorite.
As soon as ‘Camp Wimberley’ became available for purchase in 1932, the Peterson’s were finally able to own a little piece of heaven.The resort continued to remain in the family after Mabel Peterson sold to her daughter, Jane Peterson Franklin and her husband Chester ‘Mugs’ Franklin in 1963..
