Detailed description is Maryland Campus Korean Language School The United Korean School of Greater Washington (MD Campus) was founded on June 6, 1970 when a $10,000 grant from the South Korean National Government was bestowed upon the late Dr.
Ho Gil Kim and Seung Ik Kang, Minister Counselor of Education.
Their goal was to provide an education of the Korean language and culture to students so that they may serve in society as well-rounded citizens.
Forty-two years later, the foundation of which the school was built upon still rings true as we have now expanded our branches of teaching to adults and also to anyone in the community who is interested in Korean culture.
We remain as one of the oldest Korean schools in the country and have received numerous awards and recognition in both Korean and American communities.

워싱턴 통합한국학교(MD 캠퍼스)는 1970년 6월 20 토요일 고 김호길 박사와워싱턴에 파견된 강성익 교육관님이 뜻을 같이하여 정부로부터 1만불의 지원금을 받아 세워졌다.
초대 교장으로 강성익 교육관님을 모시고 개교 후 현재까지 40년이라는 전통을 이어오고 있다.
본교는 한국인 후세들에게 한국의 언어, 문화교육을 통하여 자긍심과 올바는 정체성을 갖게 함으로써, 미국 및 인류사회에 이바지 할 수 있는 사람이 될 수 있도록 한다는 교육목표를 갖고 있다.
본교의 모든 교사들은 학생들 앞에서 부끄럽지 않는 선생님으로 떳떳이 설 수 있고자 사명감을 갖고 혼신을 다하고 있다.
