Detailed description is Welcome to The Silhouette Shop.
We take great pride in all our work.
Each piece is handcut, no mass production.
The silhouettes are made of 1/8" metal and black powder coated or flame painted clear powder coated.

Based in Grove, Oklahoma, we have been in business for 21 years.
All the silhouettes are designed by the artist Ron Waggoner.
Custom silhouettes are hand-crafted and can be created from your photographs or sketches or ideas.

After 25 years of welding, I had a desire to do something different.
In August 1992, a friend of mine gave me the opportunity to begin the business that is The Silhouette Shop today.

I began in North Texas under a large oak tree, cutting on two wooden saw horses.
My friend was raising emus and ostriches and needed a sign cut out for the ranch.
I cut out an image of an emu, which caught the eye of many other ranchers in the area.
For four years, I cut out only emus and ostriches.
Eventually the market for the African birds fell, and I began to cut out any and all shapes.
I have now cut out shapes from apes to zebras.

Now I live and work in Northwest Oklahoma near Grand Lake of the Cherokees.
The business is in my backyard.
The Silhouette Shop includes my shop, showroom, and art gallery.

I hand draw each picture on a poster board to make a pattern.
I then lay that poster on top of the metal and trace around it.
I even use a hand-held plasma cutter to cut out each piece.
Over the years, the plasma cutter has become like a third hand to me.
There is no limit to what I can cut out now.
Every year, I travel to trade shows to display my work for the public.

My inspiration is my wife, Vickie.
Vickie does all the paperwork and ordering materials.
I feel no business does well without a good woman behind him, and I have the best.
