Detailed description is The Salton Oasis does not exist yet.
It is in the planning stages at the moment.

We will soon be undertaking a massive project.
A quadplex property, originally designed by world famous architect Albert Frey as an accoutrement to the North Shore Boat & Yacht Club, has sat abandoned and neglected since 2009 and unfortunately was almost completely gutted by scrapper vandals.
It is our goal to turn this property into a mid-scale resort/bed & breakfast with an accent on mid-century "Desert Modernist" design and Salton Sea history from its heyday in the 50's and 60's.
Oddly, even with today's inflated prices for just about everything, we believe the entire project - complete restoration plus several luxury additions - can be achieved for approximately $150,000.
This is a drop in the bucket in the big picture, but will still be a tremendous challenge for us.
But it is still just a fraction of what it would cost to build or buy a similar business in Palm Springs, for example..

We have cleaned up all the debris from the scrapper damage and have "secured" the premises to the best of our ability on our current shoestring budget.
We welcome any and all donations.
This includes not only monetary but also labor.
If you are a local with concern for the sea and its potential restoration, and you have skills such as electrical wiring, plumbing, heating/AC, dry-walling, etc., please contact us if you would like to help.
We would be more than willing to trade vacation time for labor...once the resort is up and running.

We will be using hotels like the Orbit In, The Hideaway and The Desert Riviera in Palm Springs as models for what we hope will be the end result.

We are still working on a detailed timeline, but the rough outline is approximately two to three years for restoration of owner's unit and eventual occupation of such.
And then an additional two years for restoration of guest units.
Whether we can finish this project in less time or not will depend on you.
