Kathy Prescott, better known as Tod, is owner of The Quilt Shop Inc.
in Boone, NC.
Owning and operating a quilt shop was new to Tod, even though crafting and quilting had been a long time passion.
While living in San Ramon, California, in the early 80's she learned to quilt by taking a beginning quilting class with a friend.
The sampler she made in that class began a life long journey in to making all types of quilts.
Several years later Tod and her family moved to Houston, Texas, where she soon began working at a local quilt shop.
Little did she know that the skills she learned while working at Plain and Fancy would benefit her in the future.
Almost 13 years later her husband retired and they moved to the mountains of North Carolina.
Boone did not have a quilt shop.
Tod believed it needed one.
With some thought and planning (and a wing and a prayer) The Quilt Shop Inc.
opened July 1, 2003..

Sherri Stout has been with The Quilt Shop since Dec.
2009.
Like her co-worker, Pam, she found The Quilt Shop the month it opened and has gone through the stages of customer, part-time employee and then to working full time at the shop.

Sherri began quilting 24 years ago when she took a beginning quilting class.
Since that time she has continued to learn new techniques and loves working with color.
Sherri is always glad to help you find just the right fabric for that special project you are working on..
Pam Miller, the newest member of the staff, has also been a long time customer and teacher of The Quilt Shop.
She found The Quilt Shop within the first month that it opened and has been part of the quilting family ever since.
Pam began quilting in her early teens and has made many quilts through the years.
Her specialty is small wall size quilts and paper piecing.
During Aug., Sept.
