This 1935 Martin Theatre was old, run-down and about to be torn down! We just couldn't let that happen! A dedicated group from Manchester, GA set about to restore and renovate this Martin Theatre, named after President Franklin D Roosevelt.
This will aid in bringing the performing/visual arts to our small community.
Restoring the auditorium, ticket booth, installing a HVAC and sound system is our main focus this year.
The 1935 historic Theatre is of art deco/ art modern design.
The preserved theatre will be reminiscent of the same 1935 design while embracing and incorporating technology that will sustain the theatre well into the future.
