Hello! My name is Arianna and I am an Freshman in high school.
Chances are, everyone that reads this letter has been affected by cancer in one way or another.
I lost my loving Pappy to cancer four years ago and I was helpless to stop it.

Many of my family members have had cancer: my Grandma had a precancerous polyp, my cousin had cancer in his eye, and my Pappy had stage four colon cancer.
He took chemotherapy for quite a while and kept on fighting it.
He ended up surviving over a year when he only was given three months to live.

I felt horrible and sad.
Not just for him but for all those with cancer, so many of my friends’ family members have been diagnosed with cancer as well.
I wanted to help others with cancer so they could have a longer time on earth just like my Pappy.

That's why I came up with the idea of a race to raise money for cancer research.
I got this idea because I love to run and I know many other people do as well.

The Pappy Run has raised over $12,000.00 for cancer research! I had a chance to see some of the work being done at the research center and WOW, it is incredible.
We will find a cure for cancer, we will improve the lives of those battling cancer and we ALL can make a difference.

I am asking for your help again this year! Let’s make a difference in finding a cure, improving medications and supporting the quality of life for those in the most important battle of their lives.
