The Hume Local Area Command is situated in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales and is situated approximately 100kms from Liverpool and 90kms from Canberra.
It has a population of 93,630 (census 2007) and its major centres are Goulburn, Bowral and Yass.
Goulburn and Yass are located on the Hume Highway while Bowral is located off the Illawarra Highway.

The Command has an authorised strength of 166 police that comprises of 15 sectors Bigga, Binalong, Bowral, Bundanoon, Collector, Crookwell, Goulburn, Gunning, Marulan, Moss Vale, Robertsons, Tarago, Taralga, Tuena and Yass.
