“When I first started the band, I was sending demos over to my friend that encouraged me to start the band, Mike.
I didn't have names for the songs or the band yet, so I would jokingly send over "thehit1.mp3, etc..." Mike made a purevolume.com account on my behalf, hosting a streamable player of the rough demos.
The account was under the name THE HIT.
From that point on, we decided there was no need to change it, and began to call ourselves ‘The Hit.’”.

The Hit came to be, as Kade hooked up with Mike Ray (bass), a friend of a friend, whom he hadn’t officially met until the night he made an unannounced five-hour drive to Kade’s house and started living on his floor.
The first songs that they recorded together were done without an official guitarist.
Fortunately, these recordings were all they needed to attract old friends Colin Stevic (lead guitar) and Jorge Garcia (rhythm guitar) to join the band..

Early on, the band gained some unexpected national exposure, as they played Vans Warped Tour in Dallas, were featured in Alternative Press Magazine as an AP&R Pick, and were selected as one of Purevolume.com’s Top 21 Unsigned Artists.
In late 2009, drummer Mark McCreight; with a Business Degree from The University of Texas in Austin, was the last to join the band, and has given The Hit the direction that they had previously lacked.
His first show with The Hit was in a 5,000 CAP arena with Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, Cobra Starship, We The Kings, and more on Halloween 2009..

The Hit plans to tour this summer, in support of their brand new album, and promises its fans a live musical treat.
“Performing live is my favorite part of being a musician.
It's a direct connection I can make with people, and I have never experienced a feeling as thrilling and perfect as when performing and watching people sing my songs back to me.”.

“Music is the only thing I am guaranteed to have as long as I am breathing," reveals Kade.
“A human relationship can end, but a musical one cannot.
The songs and the attachment and the correlation of things will always be there.
The most devastating thing possible could happen to me, but if I write that down and it's transcribed perfectly, everyone will understand and everything will start to make sense and look up.
I can't say anything simple that will explain why I have to have music in my life, but it's certain and static.”.
