Detailed description is GCDS is an independent, co-educational day school in Greenwich, Connecticut, with over 900 students in grades nursery through ninth grade.
In September of 1926, forty-five boys assembled in a former barn near North Maple Avenue.
They were there because a pair of Greenwich mothers, Dorothy Baker and Jane McClelland, were unhappy with the local boys' schools and decided to start their own.
