Detailed description is We are a 7th generation family farm that grows strawberries (already picked and U-pick) and seasonal vegetables.
We sell directly to the public through our roadside stand, our CSA, and the Hky Farmers Mkt.
The Farmers' Daughter is a strawberry and mixed vegetable farm, owned and operated by Jason and Amy Douglas, in Taylorsville, NC, since 2008.
We farm about 7 acres of our larger, 107-acre family farm.
Our business is to provide the freshest produce to our customers.
We are unique because if we do not grow something, we buy it locally, within Alexander County (our county).
We encourage our customers to buy locally grown produce, because it helps our local food economy! It also gives the opportunity to educate our customers on: growing seasons, different varieties of produce, nutritional value, and food quality.
All of which gets forgotten or lost when you shop from a “global” market! A grocery store just can't compete with the look, taste, and feel of our fresh picked produce.
Don't be surprised when you come by, if we go out into the garden and actually pick what you need! .

We grow over 50 varieties of different vegetables.
We do this to break away from the stereotypical produce that you see in the store that is “bred for shipping” and introduce you to real veggies that taste good, smell good, and look good! Our produce vine ripened and is picked daily at the peak of perfection, during the growing season.
We grow our produce from only non-GMO seed.
We utilize both non-synthetic (natural) and synthetic (Man-made) pesticides as part of our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
We use both organic and synthetic fertilize sources to maintain the proper soil nutrition for our crops.

Our vegetables and fruit include: beets, broccoli, cabbage, cantaloupes, carrots, cauliflower, collard greens, Crowder peas, cucumbers, eggplant, green beans, Kale, leaf lettuce, mustard greens, onions, peppers, potatoes, pumpkins, radishes, spring onions, strawberries (already picked and U-pick), summer squash, sweet corn, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, turnips, watermelons, winter squash, & zucchini.
