Detailed description is Yes, a HOT DOG TOUR! My buddy and I are on a mission to find a perfect 10/10 hot dog in CT (and perhaps neighboring states).
Can it be done?? So...HOT DOGS you ask? Why of course.
Ever since I was a child, my Dad would rave about how there was this Hot Dog Joint in town (Upstate NY) that would serve the perfect dog with their very own sauce.
Of course the recipe was top secret.
The joint had a waitress who would wear black nail polish.
We thought that was freaky back in 1979.
Anyway, my Dad would order 6 dogs to go (in a neat little box) and I would watch him consume these things faster than you could say Hot Dog.
It was mysterious to me at that time, but as I grew, I eventually wanted to try what Dad was eating.
One bite was all it took...I was hooked! My Dad was right.
These things were delicious.
Simply mouth-watering.
That's pretty much how this page and concept came into existence.

Many people bash the state for a multitude of reasons however we are very fortunate to live in a place that contains nearly one century of Hot Dog tradition.
Families have patronized the same Hot Dog joints for years and have passed on their love of Dogs to their offspring.
This creates a special bond like the one my Dad and I share.

So...after one night out on the town with a buddy of mine, we somehow got to talking about Hot Dogs and realized we both had a love affair with 'em.
We talked about hitting a few joints in our neighborhood.
Those first visits eventually inspired us to try and 'rate' the Dogs.
I thought we should do this on an all-out Hot Dog Tour.
The tour would highlight each establishment, capture their unique traditions, and document the Dogs that they took such deep pride in serving.
After more and more research, it quickly became apparent that there were far more joints in CT than we could have ever imagined.
This 'tour' idea was beginning to take on a much broader scope.
The tour could possibly take a year or more to complete.
And then you factor in neighboring states with legendary Hot Dogs of their own...oh wow! .
