Ellen has been teaching professionally for over 25 years.
Ellen's work represents the inner glow found in her subjects.
Her approach to painting is to study the light within the form - ultimately, to reveal the soul of the subject.
Each of her paintings is a study of light and shadow, of life and sensitivity.

In 2006 she was named the Equine Artist of Distinction by the North American Horseman's Association in recognition of her "distinctive artistic talent, versatility, creativity, and skillful ability to paint and sculpt horses with exceptional accuracy, realism, consistency, and beauty in a uniquely soft and luminous style.".
