Gangotri started her dancing career even before she was born as the talent runs through her bloodline and has been blissfully inherited from her mother.
She learned Bharatanatyam from her mother Madhuri Roy who is the disciple of Padma Shri Leela Samson of Kalakshetra, from Md.
Belayet Hossain Khan who is the Disciple of CV Chandrasekhar of Kalakshetra & from Falguni Mazumder who is the Disciple of Justin Mccarthy of Kalakshetra.
She learned Kathak in Lucknow Gharana from Baishakhi Majumder who is the disciple of Kathak Maestro Pt.
Krishan Mohan Mishra of Kathak Kendra.
She also got a chance to learn directly from Padma Shri Leela Samson, CV Chandrashekhar, Brijmohan Mishra AKA Pandit Birju Maharaj, Kathak Maestro Pt.
Krishan Mohan Mishra & Late Shri Surender Saika.
