Detailed description is Thai School of Wat Dallas was founded by a group of monks and parents who believed in educating Thai children the importance of Thai language and culture.
Thai School of Wat Dallas was founded by a group of monks and parents who believed in educating Thai children the importance of Thai language and culture.
The concern was that these children who were either born in the U.S.
or brought here when they were young were unable to read, write, and speak Thai or understand Thai customs and traditions.
Between 1987 and 1989, a group of teachers from Suan Sunandha University came to assist with the curriculum and teaching.
In 1991, the request to participate in the Volunteer Teaching Abroad Program sponsored by the Faculty of Education at Chulalongkorn University was accepted as the 12th Thai temple in the Program.
Since then, volunteer Thai teachers have visited and taught Thai language and music to children who attend the Thai School of Wat Dallas every year.
