The Taranaki Safe Families Trust was formed in 2008 through an amalgamation of three Taranaki-based family violence groups.
The Trust incorporates a collaborative of twenty five member agencies, the majority of which have been working in the Taranaki community to prevent family violence for over twenty years.
This group works collaboratively to provide local family violence prevention coordination activities that improve outcomes for families/whanau, including developing local, effective joined-up responses to family violence, building relationships in and outside the family violence sector, sharing knowledge and resources to improve service capacity through training, and mobilising communities to change attitudes and behaviour towards family violence..
