He worked for The Yamaha Shop as a tech.
Then in 1977 he and a partner opened Motorcycle Salvage.
A few years later the partner moved on to racing drag bikes and Iain continued with the Motorcycle Salvage.
With good business practices and eagerness to help the local motorcycle community, Motorcycle Salvage raidly grew into one of the largest stores for aftermarket parts, OEM hard parts and motorcycles.
In 1993 the name changed to Sun Sports Cycles & Watercraft, Inc.
In addition to the name change Sun Sports introduced Artic Cats's Tigershark and Bearcat ATV line up to Ft.

Then in 1997 Sun Sports Cycle acquired FT.
