Detailed description is Suffee Commercial College was established in 1934 and was officially recognised and affiliated in 1935 to the then Government Commercial Institute.
Since the formation of the Board of Commercial Education, Government of West Bengal, (under the Higher Education Department), the affiliation has continued and the College has often been referred to as a “model” institution.

With effect from June 2004 the Board of Commercial Education came under the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education and in July 2005 Suffee Commercial College become affiliated to the West Bengal Council of Technical Education.
