Detailed description is The Stratford Athletic Department offers opportunities for students through our youth sports programs as well as our middle school, JV and varsity teams.
Pride, Tradition, and Excellence have been the foundation of Stratford Athletics since they began in the early 1960’s.
The first teams began with golf, tennis, and basketball with golf winning the first state championship in 1964.
Of course the addition of cheerleaders at basketball games added to the excitement of early days of Eagle Pride.
Now Stratford boasts over 14 sports with 47 teams.
Our sports development begins as early as Pre K in our youth programs with the emphasis being on teaching what is developmentally appropriate and building to the next level with varsity sports being the most comprehensive programming.
The Stratford Athletic Department strives to round out the education of the student athlete by encouraging participation in multiple sports.
Our coaching staff has over 400 years of experience and a number of them have played sports at the college level along with several having played at the professional level.
