It’s a day in the life of a female entrepreneur as told by her shoes.
Some women may walk a mile in their shoes; others conduct lunch meetings on the go with financial advisors or pop into the office early with a latte in hand, ready to start the day..
I tend to start my days by hitting the ground running in a pair of bright yellow python stilettos.
Every morning, I pick what shoes I’m going to wear before my outfit.
My reasoning behind this is two-fold:.
1) Early decisions with a serious shoe lover’s closet are necessary when it comes to LA traffic..
2) Picking out what shoes to wear, believe it or not, is just like working on your personal brand.
You have to start from the bottom and work your way up..
When it comes to both my company and becoming a Stiletto Gal, I started at the bottom.
My version of the bottom was a pair of black penny loafers.
I grew up in a small town in Idaho and moved to Paris, France when I was 19 where I attended school and worked as an au pair for Patricia Barbizet, the executive director behind Artemis (My biggest Stiletto Gal inspiration).

The first couple of months in Paris I spent in my loafers.
I was surrounded by chic Parisian women at all times, all of them in gorgeous high heels… and all of them staring at my not-so-chic worn out shoes.
In the City of Light, I saw the light – in stilettos..
I started buying inexpensive fashionable shoes.
While working at a couture house in Paris, my first big splurge was on a pair of fabulous knee high black boots with a pointy toe and skinny heels.
I knew I’d be walking around on the cobblestones a lot (more “hobble” than “cobble” in my step) but I was willing to make the sacrifice because of the confidence that stilettos gave me.
Shoes built my wardrobe and kept me feeling poised and fashionable from Paris to London and back to the United States again in Los Angeles where I’m the CEO of a marketing services business..
I even matched my wedding to my shoes with a pair of canary yellow heels.
While my marriage might not have lasted, the canary yellow heels weathered the storm, as did my confidence.
Stiletto Gal knows that different shoes bring out different personalities.
