Starr Manufacturing, Inc.
began operations on March 1, 2007 as a successor company to Starr Fabricating, Inc.
(SFI) and Vienna Machine Company, Inc.
(VMI).
SFI was founded July 1, 1965, during the golden age of the Steel Industry.
The new sheet metal fabricator opened with 3 employees in a 3,000 square foot building in Warren, Ohio.
Within 2 years the company had grown to 10 employees.
Based on high quality standards, Starr’s reputation and customer base grew exponentially during the following years.
In 1970, SFI secured a lease/purchase agreement with the Union Steel Company in Warren, Ohio, enabling a production footage increase to 20,000 square feet.
In 1975 SFI finally purchased the facility.
However, due to continuing growth, SFI purchased in 1986 the Hoffman Iron and Steel building in Vienna, Ohio, which added an additional 20,000 square feet to its operations.
Three years later (1989) SFI expanded the facility by another 20,000 square feet, enabling SFI to move its entire operation in January 1990 to Vienna.
In 1994 and 1998 additional factory and office facilities were added increasing the plant to its current manufacturing area of 133,000 square feet..

Since March 2007 SMI is ISO 9001:2008 certified.
We focus our operation heavily on quality, expertise, the use of modern manufacturing equipment and IT tools.
