Realizing this need of the weaker sections of the society, inclusive of those form the orphanage, the Sisters of Infant Mary’s Convent, Jeppu ventured into the difficult task of starting a high school.
Thus in the year 1964, after obtaining due permission from the concerned education department, St.
Gerosa Girls’ High School was started by opening 8th standard in Kannada medium with 84 girls on roll and in subsequent years standards 9 and 10.
