History of the School.
The School was established in the year 1970 as St.
Anne's English Medium Nursery School in Kilpauk, Chennai, and became a Primary School in the year 1976.
Sornammal Educational Trust took over the school in April 2001 and named it SET Anne’s School of Excellence and shifted it from Kilpauk to Ayanavaram, Chennai.
The school started functioning in its new name 'SORNAMMAL MATRICULATION SCHOOL' from November 2006.
The school was upgraded as a Higher Secondary School in June 2009..
