Sonic Farm Studio

8629 Hayes Hollow Rd

Erie,

New-york,United-states - 14033

Detailed description is A professional, full-service recording studio located just outside Buffalo NY, servicing the greater Western New York and Southern Ontario area.
Sonic Farm is a full-service recording facility, located just south of Buffalo in scenic Colden, NY.
We take a traditional approach to recording sound, using the finest analog gear available.
Our professionally designed space includes an all-wood live room, two ISO booths, and spacious control room.
The facility features fully floating floors and nearly silent HVAC.
The space was designed by acoustical architect and author, Rod Gervais, to be entirely neutral and sonically accurate.
Our rural location is set in the rolling hills and the property offers an inspiring vista and vibe that is sure to spark your creativity! .
.
Two lounges are available to our clients.
A large area on the lower floor is provided with any studio booking and provides a comfortable and quiet place to relax or work on arrangements.
In addition, we offer our “tour bus” lounge, parked right next to the studio.
Our 43’ luxury bus features 4 slide out rooms; artist have access to the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom, along with the on-board laundry.
For longer engagement recording sessions or out-of-town clients, this provides artists with the ability to lodge comfortably right on-site and in style.
.
.
We use a custom 96 Channel, Midas Heritage 3000 analog mixing console and a Pro Tools 11 HD system, custom built by iZ Technologies.
Our system allows 48 simultaneous inputs and outputs..
.
Every channel on our console features a fully parametric 4-band EQ, sweepable high pass filter, and an incredible XL4 preamp.
With 24 aux sends and 48 mix busses, our console has the flexibility to provide multiple, latency-free headphone mixes during tracking.
.
.
On top of all this, we offer an extensive collection of preamps and other outboard processing from the likes of SSL, Rupert Neve, Bricasti, API, dbx, Manley, Avalon, Universal Audio, Empirical Labs, and others.
And, a collection of microphones from the likes of Neumann, Bock, Schoeps, Coles, Royer, Beyer, Sennheiser, Shure and even a Sony C800g tube mic! .
.
Our flat and accurate acoustic space and control room allows us to put together mixes that translate perfectly to all playback systems.
But professional mixes also require professional monitors.
That’s why our control room features the Focal SM9, 3-way studio monitor system.
The SM9 is actually 2 speaker systems in 1 box, its patented “focus” mode allows our engineers to accurately mimic the limited frequency response of consumer-grade playback equipment.
Critical midrange tweaking, something necessary to providing recordings that translate to any system, can be achieved with this feature.
And when in full-range mode, the SM9 speaker system extends the bass frequencies into values normally associated with subwoofers, thus eliminating the need for an external subwoofer and the attendant phase, crossover and other issues that a subwoofer can unintentionally introduce to the monitoring environment..
.
All of our sessions are tracked through our latest generation RADAR Studio recording system.
The 24-bit, 96 kHz converters in this system are widely regarded as some of the finest available today.
RADAR "ADAII" converters are known for having a smooth transient response, eliminating digital harshness and better approximating the sweet sound of analog tape.
If your recordings are lacking a professional, polished sound, low quality conversion is likely a contributing factor.
We recognize how important this stage of the recording process is, that’s why we chose the highest quality sound capture system on the market today..
.
Our RADAR/ProTools 11 HD system is fed directly into our analog console.
Thus, all of the summing and other processing are handled in the analog domain (using no plug ins).
At Sonic Farm, we value the benefits of an analog signal path.
Likewise, all of the EQ, dynamics processing, and other effects are provided by top quality outboard units (including the world-renown, Bricasti M7 reverb).
Please see our extensive gear list below..
.
But all this would mean nothing in the hands of amateurs, without the highly-trained and professional staff at Sonic Farm.
No matter how great the gear, successful tracking and mixing, as well as creative guidance, all require keen ears and empathetic minds.
We consider every client, from locals to signed label talent just as seriously as the next and take great pride in guaranteeing all our client's results.
Before we hit record, we carefully discuss just what it is the artist is seeking to accomplish and create a customized plan to successfully achieve that goal.
And, we strive for an upbeat but relaxed atmosphere in which our clients can maximize their full potential, without distraction and with minimal downtime.
.
.
At the end of the day, our goal at Sonic Farm Studio is to, where appropriate, equal the kind of high-quality product that one hears on their favorite records by national and international recording artists, and to enjoy each level in that process--from cutting basics to finished master.
We are eager to do all that we can to assist you in reaching those dizzying heights.
Let us know how we can be of service with all your musical endeavors! .
