Detailed description is Local non-profit organization of piano teachers in the Treasure Valley area hosting student competitions and scholarships in the Fall and Spring each year.
FALL FESTIVAL:.
The SRVMT sponsors an annual Fall Festival at the Treasure Valley Community College.
Piano students of all ages studying with member teachers perform one selection before a judge.
The selections rotate each year between five musical periods: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, and Jazz.
The student performs a selection from one of 13 levels.
The judge critiques each student's individual performance and selects a "Best of Show" for each level.
All students receive a judging sheet and ribbon for participating.
The winner of each level receives a rosette ribbon and performs at an Honors Recital that afternoon of the Festival.

SPRING SCHOLARSHIPS:.
Two scholarships are awarded to high school students around May 1st.
Scholarships are based on a live classical performance before a judge.
Division I is awarded to a Freshman/Sophomore student; Division II is awarded to a Junior/Senior student.
Students must be studying with a member teacher.
Scholarship money may be used in any manner by the student.
Currently, the Division I scholarship is $75, and the Division II scholarship is $100.

TEACHER SUPPORT & DEVELOPMENT:.
All area teachers are invited to participate in Professional Development workshops and the annual Fall meeting.
Member teachers meet in the Fall to elect officers, coordinate events, and plan teacher workshops.
