It's pretty amazing that after 30 very fulfilling years of of training police dogs and their handlers from all over the State of Delaware, I've actually found a new love.
Not many people get to say that about their livelihood, and I'm so very lucky that this bend in my road has worked out like it has!.

In 1981, Sue landed a position as a Police K9 Handler with the Middlesex County, MA Sheriffs Department.
With her German Shepherd, Tucker, she was the first woman to attend the Metropolitan Police K9 Academy in Boston, MA..
After completing the 14week-training course, she entered and took first place in the novice division of the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) regional field trials.
That was the first of many competition wins for Sue and her dogs.
Five Regional Championships with three different dogs and two times in the Top five overall at National Championships, earned her a reputation as a top competitor..

After four years as a handler in Massachusetts, a position as a K9 Unit Trainer was landed at the Delaware Department of Corrections.
This involved training dogs and handlers in obedience, agility, tracking, search, narcotic detection and apprehension..

Under Sue’s leadership, the K9 program grew statewide, encompassing 3 institutions, and rose from 10 to 23 K9 teams.
As well as her own departments teams, many municipal police departments also choose to attend Sue’s program, which had gained a reputation for producing excellent all around dogs and handlers..

In 1998 Sue became a nationally certified USPCA Police K9 Trainer and traded her competition bib in for a judges chair, becoming a USPCA certified patrol, detector and tracking dog judge..

In 2003 Sue moved to Maryland and spent 7 years as an explosive detection dog handler and trainer at a government intelligence agency.
