Detailed description is De Sint-Barbarakerk is een rooms-katholieke kerk aan de Schildstraat in de wijk Treebeek van Brunssum in de Nederlandse provincie Limburg.De kerk werd in 1919-1920 gebouwd als rectoraatskerk, maar werd later verheven tot parochiekerk.
De kerk werd gewijd aan Sint-Barbara, de beschermheilige van de mijnwerkers.
Veel inwoners van Treebeek werkten destijds in de daargelegen Staatsmijn Emma.
Architect Alexander Kropholler ontwierp de eenbeukige kerk in traditionalistische stijl.
In het oorspronkelijk ontwerp was ook een klokkentoren voorzien, maar deze werd niet gebouwd.
Pas in 1979 werd een stalen klokkenstoel bij de kerk geplaatst.
