The inception of this prestigious school came to light in the troubled times-1984.
The limitations of resources and the work force for the school in those days was a real challenge.
However, keeping the education at the fore front, some of the dedicated people of the Nagam, with an impartial and unbiased attitude, came forward to educate the children, around the area of Nagam, by kick-starting a learning centre, keeping in view the parallel importance of religious and worldly knowledge.
In the beginning, it was named ‘Islamic Model School’.
Later it was renamed as Sheikh-Ul-Alam Islamic School, keeping in view the mission and essence of Sheikhl-Ul-Aalam (R.A) in teaching the people of Kashmir, the path of righteousness through his shruk’s(verses) and contemporarily it is better known as ‘Sheikh-Ul-Alam Islamic Model High School’ after upgradation in 2012..
One can’t ignore the sacrifices of teachers till date, in the form of time and effort at a very meager income.
The tradition, moral principles and unique etiquettes are still an integral part of the school.
There have been a lot of fast paced transactions in the past 3 decades- be it scientific, cultural, the way of communication or implementation of new educational regulations and demands.
