Silver Maple Stained glass is a vision Ken and I have had for some time.
We are both Air Force veterans.
I retired from the AF after 21 years in 2006 and Ken just retired after 26 years in 2015.
From 2006-2015 while tagging along with Ken on his assignments and needed something to interest me, and also make a bit of money on the side.
After trying several different arts and crafts I fell in love with stained glass.
During this time I also went to school using my GI Bill and received my Bachelors in Management and Masters in Education (Adult Education).
I’ve been working at full time jobs for colleges and universities in MA, NJ, SC and recently NY.
I recently left my positon as Veterans Center Director for Excelsior College in Albany so I could pursue LIFE full time!.
We have done art shows in Massachusetts, and South Carolina and this past year performed demonstrations at the Northville Rotary’s Annual Woodworking and Fine Arts Show in Northville.
We will be there with a booth this year, July 14-16, 2017! I’ve also been teaching a couple classes at the Paul Nigra Fine Arts Center in Mayfield, NY..
I’m at my best when creating original pieces.
I’ve done many designs based on ideas or pictures customers have provided.
You will see under my photos a picture of a crop duster (one of the most unique designs I’ve done).
A woman approached me to do a piece for her dad who owned a crop dusting company many many years ago.
I used an overlay method and I think it turned out great!.
I’ve done everything from very small sun-catchers to large custom pieces (largest was 2.5’ x 5’); some hang in windows and some are installed into windows.
I designed two large sidelights as a gift for my in-laws, not that I was kissing up or anything!.
Because we were around military communities and so many of my clients were military and veterans my pieces can be found across the country, if not around the world.

We are finally in our ‘forever home’ (no more moving!!!) which happens to be the house I grew up in in Hope, NY (too small to have a post office so my address is Northville).
Ken and I are both active in Northville’s community; members of the Rotary, Community Collaboration Council, and Ken is a teacher at Northville Central School.
