Detailed description is The Colorado Lambda Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is a fraternity dedicated to upholding the virtues instilled by the teachings of the True Gentleman.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the largest national fraternity by both initiated and active members, has long been at the forefront of fraternal brotherhood and innovation.
Founded in 1856, Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the only surviving national fraternity from the pre-Civil War Antebellum South.
Currently headquartered in Evanston, Illinois, SAE has led many major innovations and steps forward in fraternity life.
SAE was the first national fraternity to: remove the white male clause for membership, build a national headquarters, hold an annual national leadership school, ban kegs and all other central sources of alcohol, and completely eliminate pledgeship..

With the elimination of pledgeship, which took effect on Founders Day, March 9 2014, our fraternity moved from one semester of member education to four years of it.
With our new member education program, The True Gentleman Experience, needless hazing and pledging is eliminated, and all brothers are treated as equals, from the time they initiate to the time they leave as Chapter Alumnus.
All members initiate within 96 hours of accepting their bid, and upon initiation are immediately granted equal rights to every other brother in the active fraternity.
Members then begin a unique membership experience that lasts until they graduate from the chapter, teaching them both about the history and ideals of our fraternity, as well as life lessons and skills necessary for their success as a student, an employee, and a man..
