Over 40 years ago local entrepreneur Joe Lebovitz looked around Wooster and saw many opportunities.
His first well known venture was a discount grocery and supply store off of old Route 30 called The Value Center.
Later, he noticed the rising mobile home industry and decided to open Shelmar Mobile Home Park, out on Mechanicsburg Road..

Finally, before he died of a lengthy battle with diabetes, Joe decided that with the sport of tennis on the rise, a good business to leave for his family would be a tennis and racquetball club, so he had one built on a part of the land he owned near the mobile home park.
In the decades since, the tennis and racquetball business inside the facility has been owned by other individuals while the family, as landlord, continued to own the building..
