We strive to create innovation through movement.
Shadows Dance Art Experience was Co-founded by Alyssa Zak and Marcia Cloutier, in the early summer of 2013.
By the fall, they officially became a TAX ID Incorporated small business and partnership.
The two had studied, performed, and competed mutually for years before they worked as Assistant Director’s together to a local (501c3) Non-Profit Dance Organization when they quickly realized they had the same mission, to dance.
After two successful seasons Alyssa moved her career in a personal direction and Cia became the sole proprietor, Director, and owner of Shadows.
Shadows is comprised of dancers and artists from all over Massachusetts.
A group of talented individuals; that work together to create “Innovation Through Motion.” We bring our world to the people and intertwine art, pedestrian life, and dance in one.
We are scholars, world travelers, classical, and self-taught dancers.
Professional dancers, promo models, choreographers, and artists - and most importantly so much more than an average dance and performing arts company, we are a Dance Art Experience.
We provide a full entertainment industry opportunity for New England dancers to perform, book, expand, and grow in their dance career's.
We teach Master Classes for recreational to pro studio's,private workshops, and tour the Intensive and convention circuit teaching and taking classes.
Our professional credits and clientelle include appearing at the recent “Nines Festival” alongside Endearment Dance Company, at the 3River Arts & their “Costume Ball” as promotional models (cigarette girls, speakeasy bouncers, and a custom performance to fit their Classic 1920's theme, Charter Business, TV3, Twin River Casino, Pena Production's, Guest audition judge, choreography, and performance to DCW’s Fall 2013 season and XTREME performance.
We also even appeared at Breakaway Billiard’s “Ladies Night Out” event, were present at the “Liberate The Artist” Victor & Angel RI tour visit where our dancers only received praise, were asked demonstrate, and were used as example's of how you should compose yourself as a dancer technically and professionally.
We are currently on an East Coast Master Class tour and have been spreading our knowledge of contemporary, ballet, jazz/jazz funk, technique, music video, cruise ship, burlesque, Vegas/showgirl, dance strength, improv techniques, hip hop, and MANY more styles with ALL ages of the dance community! Audition's for choreographers and dancers are held yearly for each season, though pre-admittance via video submission is accepted, and any inquiries to a private audition must be discussed with the Executive Director.
