O objetivo é que sua periodicidade seja anual.
O Brasil possui a maior população negra fora do continente africano, uma presença que vai muito além das condições de trabalho escravo comumente apresentadas nos livros de história, o que diz muito pouco.
A história do negro no Brasil está permeada de contribuições significativas na literatura, na música, na ciência, nos nossos hábitos mais cotidianos.
E é esse o ponto de partida da primeira edição da Semana IDEA de Artes Negras (SIAN) que acontece entre os dias 29/08 e 02/09 na IDEA Casa de Cultura – Rua Bernardo Guimarães, 1200/ bairro Funcionários- BH..
