Detailed description is Seaside Yoga & Wellness is a peaceful space overlooking West Falmouth Harbor.
Come take some time for yourself, rest your mind & try a class! Inspired by & built by my Dad, Barry Funfar...that is how Seaside Yoga & Wellness came to be! My Dad is a Vietnam Veteran, USMC, with PTSD.
In 2012, I ran my first Marine Corp Marathon in his honor and raised money for Veterans with PTSD.
It was an indescribably amazing experience & so I did it again in 2014....always finishing with the desire of wanting to do something more for our Veterans.
Meanwhile, I had been discovering the yoga world and realizing how much the benefits of it can positively effect all aspects of life! One day, I stumbled upon an article about 'Yoga Warriors, International'...a type of yoga specifically geared toward benefiting veterans & first responders with PTSD.
For me, that is when something clicked...that is what I wanted to do...create a safe space to offer this opportunity to our veterans to also experience how yoga can help them to provide peace of mind in their daily lives.
I shared my idea with my Dad who was nothing but encouraging & told me to not only go for it, but that he would start planning & building the space I would need to make it happen.
As my Dad began moving forward with the construction, I obtained my RYT200 teacher training from Innerglow Yoga, in Mashpee, MA and myYoga Warrior International training from the founder of Yoga Warriors at Central Mass Yoga in West Boylston, MA.

Today, as my Dad crosses the finishing touches of the "studio to-do" list, there are really no words to express how grateful I am to him.
The best expression of thanks I believe, will be of course, opening the studio, but also running my third Marine Corp Marathon in D.C.
this month on October 30, 2016.
I will be running again to honor all of our heroes who have sacrificed so much defending our freedom...but of course for my biggest hero & inspiration...my Dad.
