Sinds 1875 organiseert de Stichting het Feest der Feesten.
De geschiedenis van het Schoolfeest.
Het prille begin..
Het Goorse School- en Volksfeest begint in 1875 als een evenement voor alleen de schooljeugd.
Om het onderwijs te stimuleren en te bevorderen wordt er aan het eind van het schooljaar een "schoolfeest" georganiseerd.
Alle schoolgaande kinderen mogen er aan meedoen als ze minder dan dertig maal per jaar verzuimd hebben op school.
In een draaimolen kon de toenmalige jeugd zich naar hartenlust uitleven.
De eerste schoolfeesten worden even buiten Goor gehouden, bij de boerenherberg ‘Leenemeuje’.
Kinderen worden getrakteerd op bekertjes wijn met water, volgens vast recept gemaakt.
Het begrip 'bier' komt dan nog niet in het schoolfeestwoordenboek voor..

Een volksfeest ontstaat.
In 1881 wordt heel voorzichtig een volksfeest aan het kindergebeuren gekoppeld.
Eerst duurt het feest één dag, later groeit het uit tot tweedaags festijn.
Het feestterrein verhuist een aantal malen binnen de stad Goor, maar vindt uiteindelijk in 1897 een vaste stek op de Höfte, het huidige Schoolfeestplein.
Een glas bier kost in die jaren 5 cent.
Even ontstaat er twijfel over de voortgang van het feest als in 1901 de leerplicht van kracht wordt.
Maar op aandringen van de in dat jaar opgerichte Vereniging voor Vreemdelingenverkeer ‘Goor-Vooruit’ besluit men toch om de feestelijkheden te laten voortgaan.
