Presently in our society a lot of unwanted misdeeds has been activated,one of the most dangerous misdeed is Dowry system.
In religious view there is no proof to receive dowry at any way,its real Haram in Islam.
Islam does not entertain dowry but encourage 'Mahar' which has been providing by groom to bride while Nikah.Mahar is the unvalaueable warrant of a Muslim girl.
but our society misapply Mahar and pervade the misdeed dowry system..

وَآتُواْ النَّسَاء صَدُقَاتِهِنَّ نِحْلَةً فَإِن طِبْنَ لَكُمْ عَن شَيْءٍ مِّنْهُ نَفْساً فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيئاً مَّرِيئاً.

And give unto the women (on marriage) their dower (Mahr), ( whom ye marry ) free gift of their marriage portions ; but if they of their own accord remit unto you a part thereof , then ye are welcome to absorb it ( in your wealth)..
