یکی از مشهور ترین کانون علمی اکادمیک خطه باستانی غزنی که اساس آموزش و پرورش در آن پیریزی گردیده لیسۀ سنایی شهر قدیم غزنه است.
این لیسه بعد از استقلال در عصر اعلیحضرت امیر امان الله خان غازی در سال 1305 خورشیدی از صنف اول الی صنف چهارم تاسیس گردید نخستین محل این مکتب برای تدریس شاگردان در جنوب غرب شهر کهنه ( قلعۀ قدیمی غزنه) جوار محلۀ قره واقع برج بالا بین ایجاد گردید.
استادان مکتب رشدیۀ سنایی اکثرا مردم محیطی این شهر بودند.
از جملۀ نخستین استادان این لیسه صوفی عبدالوهاب خان ، محمد نعیم خان ، عبدالصمد خان ، استاد امیر محمد خان و یکنفر معلم هندی بنام افندی و سر معلم یا آمر مکتب نظام الدین خان بوده است که در مکتب مشغول تدریس بودند.
مضامین که در آن وقت تدریس میگردید عبارت از دینیات ، قرائت دری الفباء قرآنکریم ، تاریخ ، جغرافیه ، حساب و سپورت بود وشاگردان از صنف چهارم رشدیه فارغ میگردید.
از جملۀ نخستین شاگردان این مکتب استاد غلام نقشبند خان ، وکیل نظر جان ، عبدالله خان ملکیار ، تورن جنرال عبدالجبار ملکیار ، عبدالستار شالیزی ، عبدالحد عشرتی ، جنرال عبدالسلام ملکیار و غیره شخصیت های سیاسی، اداری و علمی این سرزمین بوده است.
مکتب سنایی ( لیسۀ سنایی امروز ) در سال 1311 خورشیدی در دوران حکومت محمد نادر خان از صنف چهارم به صنف صنف پنجم ارتقاً نموده ، تعداد شاگردان آن افزایش یافته و جدیدالشمولان بطور جبری ار طرف حکومت وقت جلب میگردید.
بالا خره در سال 1317 خورشیدی تعمیر فعلی لیسۀ سنایی به ساحۀ 20 جریب زمین در زمان حکمرانی نایب سالار عبدالاحد خان ملکیار مجدًا اعمار گردیده و بحالت رشدیه قرار گرفت.
تعداد استادان بیشتری در این کانون استخدام گردیده و راه رشد و ترقی را در پیش گرفت همچنان لیسۀ سنایی در سال 1325 خورشیدی به درجه متوسطه ارتقا یافت و شاگردان بعد از فراغت از صنف نهم به مکاتب کابل مانند دارالمعلمین ، اقتصاد ، شرعیات ، حربیه و غیره مکاتب مسلکی جذب میگردیدند..
این لیسه در سال 1341 خورشیدی به دورۀ لیسه تا صنف دوازدهم ارتقا یافت و کانون علمی لیسه سنایی درین دهه سیر صعودی را طی نموده ودارای سه لابراتوار فزیک ، کیمیا و بیولوژی( که اکثر وسایل این لابراتوارها ساخت کمپنی قیوی جرمنی بود ) گردید.
یک باب کتابخانه در حدود 2000 جلد کتاب در علوم مختلفه به همکاری مردم و مساعی عبدالشکور بابکر خیل مدیر معارف آن وقت ایجاد گردید.
چندین هزار شاگرد با دانش عصرجدید فارغ شده که شاگردان آن در جامعه مصدر خدمات ارزنده گردیده که مایۀ افتخار و مباهات مردم این سرزمین باستانی میباشد..
