Elsa Walsh, a first-generation US immigrant, was born in Havana, Cuba and raised on the foods and traditions of Cuban culture.
Elsa's mother served as her mentor and inspiration for Cuban cuisine.
She grew up eating Cuban food daily; it was the way of everyday life and always present at social gatherings..

When Elsa moved to San Rafael, California from Florida, she missed the Cuban flavors and dishes that shaped her life.
She also lost her mother to cancer and her connection to her roots.
These life events spurred Elsa to embark on her journey and rekindle her love affair with Cuban cuisine.
She strives to recreate the childhood dishes close to her heart and to pass on her heritage to her three children..
